Law enforcement says a homeowner in McMinn County shot a man attempting to assault him this morning (Monday, May 22, 2017). McMinn County Sheriff Joe Guy says the victim with a gunshot wound has been transported to a area hospital for examination and treatment. The McMinn County Sheriff’s office is investigating the incident which happened on McMinn County Road 82. The names of those involved were not immediately released by law enforcement.
