Cumberland County firefighters responded this morning to a home on the 700 block of Scarlett Drive for a structure blaze.

Crews arrived to find the home halfway involved in flames.

Officials say the fire is believed to have started in the kitchen area.

No one was inside the residence at the time the blaze started.

An exact cause is being determined.

A dog inside the dwelling passed away in the fire. A second dog was saved by firefighters.
