Authorities in White County have launched an investigation following the discovery of human skeletal remains on a property located above Wildcat Falls.

Sheriff Steve Page confirmed the remains are human and noted that they appear to have been at the site for an extended period. Due to the condition of the remains, investigators are currently unable to determine the individual’s gender or the cause of death.

The remains are being sent to a medical examiner for forensic analysis. As part of the ongoing investigation, local authorities plan to review reports of missing persons filed in the area over recent years.
