The hunt for a robbery suspect continued in Marion County Tuesday. Several agencies — including the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Tennessee Highway Patrol, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, and Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office — searched for Dewayne Halfacre, who is on the TBI’s Top 10 Most Wanted list. Halfacre is wanted by the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office and TBI for aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon, and theft. Whitwell area schools were closed Wednesday as authorities continued the search. And at one point, authorities closed down a portion of Highway 283. Both Halfacre’s wife and mother have reached out to the suspect to turn himself in.
