IDENTITY LEARNED OF CUMBERLAND COUNTIAN KILLED IN FLORIDA VEHICLE ACCIDENT
The Florida Highway Patrol says a vehicle accident Friday on State Road 85 south of Crestview claimed the lives of five individuals, including one from Cumberland County, Tennessee. An 8-year-old boy was the sole survivor and was injured in the crash.
Troopers say a sedan carrying two women ages 39 and 49 from Crestview, a 58-year-old from DeFuniak Springs and 32-year-old Jeffrey “Keith” Dodson from Crossville, Tennessee veered off the roadway and crossed the center median. The sedan went into northbound traffic resulting in a head on collision. All four died and the 8-year-old was in the vehicle.
The driver of the second vehicle, a 19-year-old from Crestview, also suffered fatal injuries.
The accident remains under investigation. The reason the sedan left its lane has not yet been determined.
