The Cumberland County Building and Grounds Committee received a report yesterday of planned improvements to Veterans Park in downtown Crossville.

Donnie Moody told the committee a couple of trees will be taken down in the park running along 4th Street and one along Main Street next to the Korean Memorial.

The park will undergo landscaping improvements soon.

Moody said the plans also call for the placement of two concrete pads in the park with picnic tables on them.

Other improvements to the park include a sign spanning over the entrance, handrails, and additional entry points.

Officials will seek grants from the state to pay for the improvements.
