INEBRIATED MAN ARRESTED FOR TRESPASSING AT HEATHER RIDGE APARTMENT
Friday evening, Crossville police were called to an apartment on Heather Ridge Circle, along with fire and EMS for a combative subject. They found 52-year-old James Allen Young, Jr., of Crossville, who was refusing help from EMS personnel. Police report he was inebriated to the point of confusion. The resident of the apartment said he didn’t want Young there. Officers tried to explain to Young that he had to call someone to drive him home, or go with EMS to the hospital.
Still refusing to go with emergency personnel, he couldn’t call for someone to retrieve him, and he insisted if he stepped out the door he would be dead. When asked why, he pointed to one of the responding officers and said, “She’s going to shoot me.”
The officer reassured Young she wasn’t going to shoot him, and she was just there to get him some help.
After giving Young “ample opportunity” to either get a ride home or go with EMS, officers had no alternative than to handcuff Young and take him to jail for criminal trespassing.
