INJURIES REPORTED IN VEHICLE ACCIDENT ON NORTHSIDE DRIVE

Crossville police and medics responded to a vehicle accident Friday afternoon on Northside Drive. The report states a 2001 Chevy pickup driven by Hailey Angelica Malatesta was traveling too fast in a curve at the intersection of South Drive and sideswiped an oncoming 2008 GMC operated by Paul R. Alberth. The truck overturned and came to rest on its top at the bottom of the hill over the Obed River. Paramedics transported Malatesta and a passenger, Adryan Malatesta, to the hospital for treatment. A third passenger in the Chevy, as well as Alberth and a female in his vehicle, escaped injuries.

The curve on Northside Drive at South Drive has been the scene of numerous accidents over the past 12 months, especially under wet road conditions. The speed limit is 30 miles per hour. Motorists who travel in this area are asked to use extreme caution.
