Interstate 40 is the most dangerous highway in Tennessee, according to a new study from A Secure Life. The organization said it analyzed traffic fatality data from 2017 from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The report said there have been 85 fatalities on I-40, while there were 39 on I-24 and 26 on I-65. In a related story, 613 people have been killed on Tennessee roadways so far this year, compared to 577 last year. It has been especially deadly in Cumberland County with 11 killed in traffic accidents so far this year. The county saw 12 traffic related deaths for all of last year.
