INVESTIGATION INTO HUMAN BONE FRAGMENTS DISCOVERED IN KINGSTON HOME CONTINUES
The Kingston Police Department is continuing its investigation after officers discovered human bone fragments inside a residential garage closet last Friday afternoon.
At approximately 3:40 p.m. on Friday, July 10, KPD officers and detectives responded to a residence on West Ridgecrest Drive following a report of possible human remains on the property. Upon arrival, law enforcement secured the scene and located a box containing human bones stored in a garage closet.
According to investigators, the remains appeared to have been sitting in the closet for an extended period.
When asked about the extent of the discovery, Capt. Guy confirmed via text message that “just pieces or fragments” were found at the location.
Medical Examiner Thomas Boduch responded to the scene to assist detectives. The fragments were collected and transported to the Knoxville Forensic Center, where specialists will conduct a detailed analysis to help determine the individual’s identity and cause of death.
The Kingston Police Department stated that the investigation remains active and ongoing. Authorities are awaiting official findings from the forensic center before releasing further information.
