A shooting in Meigs County late yesterday is under investigation by the TBI and the sheriff’s department. The incident happened at a home on the 300 block of Howard Road. Officers arrived to find James Bowers, Jr. with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital and was last listed in stable condition. Investigators say a dispute between the victim and his father, James Bowers, Sr. lead to the elder Bowers allegedly shooting his son. Officers did not initially release any further details.
