Kingston officials announce J.R. Best will be the new Director of Parks and Recreation. He has been with the city for 19 years and brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the position.

“I say often, and sincerely believe, that all of our successes are because of the outstanding men and women who work for this city. I can’t say enough about the hard work and dedication of our employees, and J.R. is counted among that group. The fact that he started out, literally, on the back of a garbage truck almost twenty years ago and through hard work has been able to climb to the level of director is something that he should be very proud of. I am certainly proud to have him on our management team. Our parks and events are a big part of what makes Kingston so special. I know they are going to be in great hands!” said Kingston City Manager David Bolling.
