James Edward Cunningham, born on December 7, 1964, in Pikeville TN, USA, passed away on March 24, 2025. A beloved father, grandfather, and sibling, James resided in Crossville, Tennessee, where he tirelessly worked as a roofer in the construction industry. A hardworking and devoted individual, he found joy in simple pleasures, often spending his free time working on his truck or attending car shows. As Albert Einstein once said, “The value of a man resides in what he gives and not in what he is capable of receiving.” James embodied this sentiment, cherishing every moment he spent with his grandchildren, who were the center of his world. James is survived by his children, Corey Cunningham, Kala Cunningham, Ann Fults, Carrie Durbin, and Brandon Fults. He leaves behind his former spouse and mother of his children, Barbara Cunningham. Grandchildren Kaliana, Kiora, Jerrica, Jaylah, Jaleeya, Isaiah, Kristyn, and Dakota gave him endless joy and he will be deeply missed by them. His siblings, Eric, Rick, Tressia, Jimmy, Dorothy, and Randy also survive James. He is preceded in death by his father Wiley Cunningham, mother Nannie Cunningham, and grandfather Billy Jean Sidwell. As poet Maya Angelou once eloquently expressed, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” James’ memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. The viewing will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 1:00pm CDT at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. located at 2653 N. Main St. Crossville, Crossville, Tennessee, 38555.
