James Henley Hembree, age 76, of Harriman, passed away March 5, 2021 at Methodist Medical Center. He served in the 101st Airborne of the United States Army and retired after 30 plus years from the Harriman Utility Board. James loved working in his garden and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Violet Hembree; brother: David Hembree; and grandson: Mason Hembree. He is survived by his wife of 52 years: Kathy Hembree; son and daughter-in-law: James and Jennifer Hembree of Harriman; daughter and son-in-law: Juanita and Wade Creswell of Oak Ridge; grandson: RJ Creswell of Oak Ridge; brother and sister-in-law: Sayer and Evadene Hembree of Kansas City; nephew: Joel Hembree of Kansas City; and many other family members and friends. The family will receive friends Monday, March 8, 2021 from 5 until 7 p.m. at the Kyker Funeral Home in Harriman with funeral service to follow. Interment will be held in Roane Memorial Gardens Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 11 a.m. eastern. Kyker Funeral Home of Harriman is serving the family.
