JAMESTOWN WOMAN ARRESTED IN JOINT ARSON INVESTIGATION
A joint investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) special agent fire investigators and the Fentress County Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest of Regina Owens Scroggins, a 59-year-old woman from Jamestown (born May 26, 1966), in connection with an intentionally set residential fire.
The blaze occurred on the morning of February 26, 2026, along Wright Place Road in Jamestown, Tennessee, while the homeowners were still inside the residence. Investigators determined the fire was deliberately started, prompting an arrest warrant for Scroggins on two counts of aggravated arson. She was taken into custody, booked into the Fentress County Jail, and is currently being held without bond. No injuries were reported from the incident.
Authorities emphasize that the charges are accusations only, and Scroggins is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt through the legal process. Anyone with information about intentionally set fires is encouraged to contact the Tennessee Arson Hotline at 1-800-762-3017.
