JERRY CRANDALL FACES COURT ON CHARGES ON FENTANYL, STOLEN FIREARM, AND THEFT
Jerry Ernest Crandall is scheduled for a report with his attorney on October 6, 2026, in the Cumberland County Circuit Court, facing serious felony charges stemming from an April 2025 traffic stop.
According to court documents and an affidavit of complaint filed by Deputy Blake Richardson of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, the case began on April 2, 2025, when deputies pulled over a silver Cadillac on Interstate 40 East after it repeatedly failed to maintain its lane.
During the stop, a consented search of the vehicle and occupants led to the recovery of:
-
A loaded Springfield Armory handgun reported stolen out of Knox County, which Crandall claimed.
-
Approximately 4 ounces of suspected narcotics (initially field-tested or identified as heroin/fentanyl compounds) found on the suspects.
-
A glass pipe commonly used for smoking narcotics.
Court dockets show Crandall is formally charged with theft (up to $1,000), possession of a firearm with intent to go armed during a dangerous felony, and possession of 0.5 grams or greater of Schedule II fentanyl. He is currently out on a $150,000 bond secured through Tennessee Bonding Company.
