JOINT INVESTIGATION LEADS TO MAJOR FENTANYL SEIZURE AND ARREST IN MONROE COUNTY
A joint investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Madisonville Police Department, Sweetwater Police Department, and Vonore Police Department culminated in the execution of a search warrant on May 27, 2026, in the Oak Grove Road area. Officers seized more than 85 grams of fentanyl, along with methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
One suspect was arrested and faces multiple felony charges. The fentanyl alone has an estimated street value of several thousand dollars, and authorities believe the seizure prevented numerous potentially deadly doses from reaching Monroe County streets.
Sheriff Tommy Jones praised the collaborating agencies for their teamwork and professionalism, reaffirming the Sheriff’s Office commitment to aggressively combating illegal narcotics. Additional charges and arrests may follow as the investigation continues.
