Josh Griffin, age 87, of Ten Mile, passed away September 4, 2020 at his residence. He was born January 15, 1933 in Rockwood. Mr. Griffin had 27 years of loyal service to the U.S. Department of Energy. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, and was a hardworking man his entire life. He was preceded in death by his parents: Cal Griffin and Sally Clark Griffin; wife: Ica Belle Brown Griffin; and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include his son: Troy Darrell Griffin of Ten Mile; daughter & son-in-law: Barbara & Larry Gates of Niota; grandchildren: Valerie Nolan (Chris) of Athens, Tennessee, Michael Gates of Athens, Tennessee, and Matthew David Fink of Ten Mile; great-grandchildren: Logan Gates, Tryston Nolan, Zoie Nolan, and Carter Nolan; brothers: Joe Griffin (Ruth) and Jackie Griffin (Barbara); sister: Cora Lane; and several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends. Family and friends will meet Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at noon in the Luminary Cemetery in Ten Mile for graveside services and interment.
