The Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency (TWRA) responded to a boat accident with injuries, near Blue Springs Marina on Watts Bar Lake late yesterday in Roane County.

A Hamilton County family of three ran aground in a 23’ Chaparral cabin boat. The Roane County Medical Examiner pronounced the father, 55-year-old Don Campbell of Ooltewah, dead at the scene from injuries sustained. The mother was flown by Lifestar to U.T. Medical Center in critical condition. The child was transported by ambulance to U.T. Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.

The incident remains under investigation.
