A Crossville local is facing a slate of criminal charges in Cumberland County General Sessions Court following a series of retail thefts, shoplifting incidents, and a burglary spanning from January to June 2026.

Court documents show that Joshua Todd Webb has accumulated multiple active cases handled by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office and Crossville Police Department. The string of offenses targets several local businesses:

• Phillips Distributing (April 22): According to an affidavit by Officer Steven McNeal, Webb entered the business, concealed a Milwaukee 3/8-inch ratchet and a 12-volt drill valued at $437, and later admitted to pawning the tools at Crossville Marine for $120.

• Staples (January 10): Officer Matthew Charlock reported that Webb entered a restricted employee back room, stole an HP laptop valued at $536.99, and later acknowledged the theft to investigators.

• Lowe’s and McAlister’s (April 30): Responding to a loss prevention call, Officer Charlock located Webb at a nearby McAlister’s. Investigators discovered Webb had cut an anti-theft device off a display tool, concealed multiple DeWalt battery packs, and entered the store despite being previously banned in 2018, leading to a burglary charge.

• Woody Market (June 12): Investigator Mitchell Ward reviewed surveillance footage showing Webb concealing a DeWalt handheld grinder (valued at $120) inside his pants before paying for other items and leaving.

In total, Webb’s docket includes multiple counts of theft under $1,000, theft of merchandise/shoplifting, criminal trespass, and burglary.
