Joseph and Krystal Daniels are being tried in connection with the disappearance and death of their 5-year-old son Joe Clyde in 2018 in Dickson County, Tennessee.
There will be two separate trials for Joe Clydeβs parents.
In the hearing yesterday, a shocking phone call was played with a conversationΒ between Joseph Daniels while he was in jail and his father. The conversation took placeΒ July 1, 2019, 16 months after he was charged with criminal homicide in the murder of Joe Clyde.
In that call, Joseph Daniels implicated his wife, Krystal, killed Joe Clyde Daniels.
Joseph Daniels told his father, βIβm not telling the whole story either yet. Youβll find out later.β
Joe asked Joseph a question, βWho all did she threaten you with?β
Joseph Daniels answered, βShe [Krystal] did what she did, and she threatened me with a knife and told me if I told anybody that she could have people to do it.β He added, βIt was too late, it was too late, I pushed her off of him.β
Joe asked, βPushed her off who?β Joseph Daniels answered, βJoe.β
During the phone call, Joseph Daniels said that Krystal used a pillow to kill Baby Joe. He also insinuated that βshe washed away the evidenceβ.
When asked if she said why she did it, Joseph Daniels responded, βNo. All I know is she threatened to kill me after it happened.β
βShe took the babyβs life away, but where he went, sheβll never go there,β Joe said.
Joseph Daniels responded, βEspecially, a special needs child.β
βSpecial needs or not, you donβt kill your baby!β Joe responded.
During the investigation, Joseph Daniels reportedly recanted his statement claiming that he killed his own son.
