KINGSTON CITY COUNCIL ELECTION QUALIFYING PERIOD EXTENDED
The qualifying period for the upcoming Kingston City Council election has been officially extended following the withdrawal of Vice Mayor Lucy Johnson’s nominating petition after the original deadline.
The extension is triggered by Tennessee’s “Anti-Skullduggery Act,” which allows additional candidates to qualify when an incumbent withdraws during the prescribed window following the initial deadline.

New Deadline: Thursday, September 3, at noon. (Note: While the city’s initial announcement listed Friday, September 3, the date correctly falls on a Thursday this year.)
-
