KINGSTON CITY COUNCIL TO HOLD MEETING TONIGHT, A DAY EARLY

Due to Election Day on Tuesday, May 5th, the Kingston City Council has adjusted its regular meeting schedule. Instead of meeting Tuesday, the council will hold its monthly work session this evening, Monday, May 4, at 6:00 p.m. at Kingston City Hall.

Items on the agenda include continued discussion of an ordinance outlining policies and procedures for the city’s water and sewer departments, as well as review of the proposed budget ordinance.

Council members will also consider authorizing the mayor to enter into an agreement with Roane County for animal shelter services.

Additional topics include an appointment to the Roane County Board of Equalization, and a proposal from the Ladd Landing Homeowners Association requesting the city take ownership of sidewalks and lighting along Ladd Landing Boulevard.

The council will also discuss potential locations for a future city gymnasium, Also discuss road closures for the Fourth of July car show and family event,

Finally consider setting a date for the public hearing and second reading of the 2026–2027 fiscal year budget. Again, the Kingston City Council will meet tonight at 6:00 p.m., not Tuesday, due to the election. The public is welcome to attend and may address the council on any city-related concerns. The meeting is also expected to be livestreamed on the city’s website at KingstonTN.gov.
