KINGSTON CITY COUNCIL TO MEET TOMORROW

The Kingston City Council will hold its monthly work session on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall. The meeting will begin with public comments, followed by discussion-only agenda items, including:
– Continued discussion on closing 4th Street to through traffic near the courthouse.
– Impacts and opportunities in Roane County from growth in the nuclear energy sector, with County Executive Wade Creswell present.
– Request to allow on-street parking on one side of Farmington Trail.
– Confirmation of an appointment to the Roane County Growth Boundary Committee.
– Options for redirecting ARC grant funding for Ladd Park.
– Awarding a $624,000 bid to Rogers Group for resurfacing Ladd Landing Boulevard.
– Budget ordinance discussion.
– Awarding a $105,500 bid to Knoxville Excavating for valve installation using American Rescue Plan funds.
– Non-bid approval of a $199,731 sole-source expenditure to USA Utility Solutions and Automation LLC for water meters and related cellular service.
– Adding a $1 pass-through technology fee to monthly water bills for customers with meters using new cellular technology.
– Request to surplus city property.
