KINGSTON DUO INDICTED FOR FINANCIAL EXPLOITATION OF ELDERLY VICTIM
On Tuesday, March 4, 2025, Kingston Police Department officers arrested Lewis Walker, 30, and Linda Shultz, 71, both of Kingston, following a grand jury indictment for financial exploitation of an elderly or vulnerable adult. The arrests stem from an investigation that began in June 2024, led by Captain Keith Kile in collaboration with Adult Protective Services at 102 Hope Circle.
The investigation revealed that the victim was charged $300 per month to live in a shed without a bathroom or running water and an additional $100 per month for microwave use. Shultz, who had access to the victim’s financial account, and Walker made numerous unauthorized charges, including $2,000 for a vehicle, purchases at Walmart, utility bills, and transactions on OnlyFans.
Even after Adult Protective Services removed the victim, Shultz and Walker continued to make purchases and withdraw funds from the victim’s account. Walker, already incarcerated at the Roane County Detention Facility on unrelated charges, was served with the new charges, while Shultz was arrested at her residence and transported to the same facility.
Shultz was released after posting bond, but Walker remained in custody as of late Tuesday afternoon. Both now await a court date to address the charges, which were handed down as a true bill by the Roane County grand jury. As always, those accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
