Local drivers are being advised to steer clear of parts of downtown this afternoon as the Roane County High School Homecoming Parade takes to the streets.

The Kingston Police Department issued an advisory warning motorists to expect significant traffic delays. The parade route covers Cumberland Street, First Street, and W. Spring Street.

Police ask that the public avoid these specific areas between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Officers will be stationed along the route to manage traffic flow and ensure participant and spectator safety.
