KNIFE-WIELDING MAN CHARGED WITH AGGRAVATED DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Sunday evening, Roane County deputies responded to a home on Clear Springs Road for a domestic call.

They found 29-year-old Andrew Keith Ladd in the front yard. He said he’d gone to his parents’ home to find out why they won’t let him stay there, and why they’re supposedly treating him badly. Ladd said he walked on the porch with an open knife in his hand and began demanding an explanation.

Ladd’s stepfather and brother both said while Ladd was demanding an explanation, he was swinging the knife around.

Ladd’s stepfather ordered him to leave and gave him ten seconds to do so.

When Ladd would not leave, the other man pushed him, whereupon Ladd charged at him. He and his son took Ladd to the ground and held him down until he calmed down.

Ladd’s mother said she called 911 when she saw a fight break out.

Deputies determined the three victims were in fear Ladd would harm them with the knife. Ladd was charged with three counts of aggravated domestic assault.
