KNOX COUNTY MAN FACES ATTEMPTED MURDER CHARGES AFTER ATTACKING OFFICER

In Knox County, Tennessee, Christopher Michael Hensley, 44, faces charges including attempted second-degree murder and aggravated assault on a first responder after striking Deputy Dalton Swanger with a large rock or brick, leaving him in critical condition in the ICU at UT Medical Center.
The incident occurred Saturday night after a 911 call about a shooting, during which Hensley threw rocks at deputies, causing severe head trauma to Swanger. Hensley was arrested, and a search of his home revealed 106 marijuana plants, 39 in an outdoor garden, and a rifle.
Additional charges include domestic assault, possession of a firearm with intent to go armed, and drug-related offenses. His bond hearing is set for Tuesday. Sheriff Tom Spangler and the community are supporting Swanger’s recovery, with a GoFundMe raising over $31,000 for medical costs.
