KNOXVILLE MAN SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS IN FEDERAL PRISON FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY DISTRIBUTION

A 44-year-old Knoxville man was sentenced on October 30, 2026, to 126 months in federal prison followed by 20 years of supervised release for distributing child pornography.
U.S. District Judge Katherine A. Crytzer handed down the sentence for Darrell Moore, who previously pleaded guilty to one count of distribution of child pornography. As part of his supervised release, Moore will be required to register as a sex offender and comply with specialized monitoring conditions.
According to court documents, the case stemmed from a June 2022 FBI operation in which Moore—using the username “supercooldaddy”—distributed videos of children under the age of eight to an undercover agent via the Kik chatting platform. Following the online exchange, federal agents executed a search warrant at Moore’s residence, seizing a cellphone containing approximately 40 images and 62 videos of child pornography.
The investigation was a collaborative effort involving the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Knoxville Resident Agency, the Knoxville Police Department’s ICAC and Special Crimes units, the Johnson City Police Department, and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Suzanne H. Sullivan prosecuted the case on behalf of the United States.
The prosecution was brought under Project Safe Childhood (PSC), a nationwide Department of Justice initiative launched in 2006 to marshal federal, state, and local resources toward prosecuting individuals who sexually exploit children and rescuing victims.
