KNOXVILLE PLACES IN TOP 100 RENTAL CITIES IN U.S.

According to a national rent report, Knoxville is in the top 100 priciest cities across the United Sates to rent a home in. Knoxville took the spot as 71st most expensive city in the country for rent prices. The study also found that nationally, one bedroom rent rose 9.8 percent since January of 2017. The price of a one bedroom unit in Knoxville grew 2.8 percent to $730, while two bedroom units increased 1.3 percent to $790. Knoxville tied for the 71st spot with Glendale, Ariz., and Rochester, New York, where the median rent for a one bedroom unit was also $730. The city that had the 100th lowest median rent price was Fort Wayne, Indiana, with a one bedroom unit coming in at $500, and the most expensive city to rent in was San Francisco, where a one bedroom unit’s median price was $3,400 in 2017. However, a two bedroom unit in San Francisco came in at $4,380, which was actually 2.9 percent lower than it was a year before.
