KNOXVILLE POLICE SAY MAN VIOLENTLY ATTACKED HIS MOTHER AND OTHERS

Knoxville Police say a man is behind bars as the result of a violent attack on his mother and two other women. Dominick Ratliff is charged with, among other things, attempted second degree. The incident occurred Friday at a Cansler Ave. home where Ratliff went off, allegedly because his mother would not allow his friends to come into the apartment. Police say he then shoved his mother, Holly, and grabbed her by the hair. Witnesses allege that Ratliff then struck his mother multiple times in the back of the head before grabbing her by the neck, choking her and yelling that he was going to kill her. Several witnesses are said to have tried to stop Ratliff but he continued to attack them as well. Officers say that Ratliff grabbed a knife from the kitchen and threatened to cut a baby from a pregnant female’s stomach. The suspect then reportedly left the scene in a truck with two other passengers. He was later caught and was charged with domestic aggravated assault and possession of drugs with intent to sell.
