MISSING GIRL CLAIMS SHE ISN’T REALLY MISSING

*Update*

Knoxville police were made aware of a Facebook account claiming to be Thurmer. The account claimed that she never ran away and is safe at a friend’s house.

“I have no doubt that is Desaray Thurmer who shared those posts,” KPD Spokesman Scott Erland said. “However, this is still a runaway situation because her whereabouts are unknown to her legal guardians.”

Public assistance is requested to help locate missing Desaray Thurmer, age 17. On September 5, 2022,

Desaray left her home on Middlebrook Drive via Uber and was possibly heading to an address on Avalon Drive. However, she has not been seen since around 8 p.m. on September 5. Thurmer is approximately 5’6” and 125 pounds with hazel eyes and brown hair.
