KNOXVILLE, Tenn.  – An ambulance on Alcoa Highway struck and killed a pedestrian this morning.

In the early hours of Tuesday morning, an AMR ambulance was traveling north on Alcoa Highway when a pedestrian, who was walking in the left hand of the lane was hit. The pedestrian was wearing all black according to reports. They were provided care at the scene and were taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center where they were pronounced dead.

The crash is under investigation.
