KTG FOUNDATION GIVES BLUE ENVELOPES TO ROANE OFFICERS FOR AUTISTIC DRIVERS

From the KTG Foundation:

We are very happy to announce that KTG Foundation has provided to Roane County Sheriff’s Office, Harriman Police Department, Kingston Police Department, Oliver Springs Police Department, and Rockwood Police Blue Envelopes for drivers on the autism spectrum.
The Blue Envelope Program is designed to improve communication between law enforcement and individuals with autism during a traffic stop.

The program aims to help law enforcement better understand and interact with individuals on the autism spectrum, reducing anxiety, and promoting safer interactions during traffic stops.

Individuals with autism can place copies of their driver’s license, vehicle registration, and insurance cards in the blue envelope, which also serves as a visual cue for law enforcement. It also comes with a blue sticker to put on the back window.

We also want to thank each of the departments for allowing us to come in and explain the program to the officers.

We would also like to thank Oliver Springs Police Department and Chief Laxton for helping us create a social story on what to do when pulled over.

KTG Foundation is providing this program to law enforcement agencies in Tennessee at no cost to them. We are working on reaching other agencies, if any agencies would like to have The Blue Envelope Program in their area, please reach out to Jennifer King at 865 316-6167 or [email protected]
