LANCASTER ARRESTED FOR DUI AFTER ROANE COUNTY TRAFFIC STOP

A traffic stop last evening resulted in one man going to jail after a Roane County deputy saw his vehicle speeding and swerving along Roane State Highway (Highway 70).

Deputies pulled the driver over and, detecting a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person, asked 46-year-old Daniel Andrew Lancaster where he was coming from; he replied “the farm.”

The deputy then asked where he was going; Lancaster said, “back to work.”

The deputy then asked where he was. Lancaster said he was in Lenoir City, near I-40. He also said he’d drunk two 40-ounce beers before driving and he’d been arrested three previous times for DUI, the most recent time being six months ago.

After failing multiple field-sobriety tests, Lancaster was taken to jail for DUI, and violation of the implied-consent law, having refused to submit to a breath test Lancaster remained jailed as of late this afternoon.
