LANDING ZONE CLASS HELD IN FENTRESS COUNTY
Yesterday, a landing zone class was held in Fentress County for emergency response crews. Landing zones are needed in times of vehicle crashes to rush an individual with life-threatening injuries to a regional hospital. The ideal size for a landing zone is 100 by 100 feet. The minimum size to land is 60 by 60 feet with no obstructions. Lifestar from the University of Tennessee, AirEvac from Albany, Kentucky, and the Fentress County Emergency Management Agency conducted the class.
