LARGEST SEARCH YET PLANNED FOR THE BODY OF A TENNESSEE CHILD

The Dickson County Sheriff’s Office has asked for volunteers with emergency-services backgrounds to aid in a larger search for the body of 5-year-old Joe Clyde Daniels. Officials are seeking 30 to 50 adult volunteers with law-enforcement, firefighting, EMT or military-service backgrounds. The adults are to be used as team leaders for the large-scale search. Officials said leaders should be physically capable of leading groups of community volunteers through mixed terrain and should have the appropriate clothing, shoes and equipment. The search is planned for Saturday, May 19, 2018. The sheriff’s office said crews have been searching properties in and around Tennessee City, and they’ve followed up on all leads received during the past few weeks. Officials said community support has “been a testimony to the goodness of Dickson County residents, out-of-county volunteers, local and neighboring emergency service partners, churches, businesses, surrounding communities, and states,” according to a news release from the sheriff’s office. The sheriff’s office said the May 19 search would be the largest conducted yet. Anyone interested in volunteering is asked to contact the Dickson County Sheriff’s Department at (615) 789-4130.
