LEGISLATION WOULD ALLOW LOTTERY TICKETS TO BE PURCHASED WITH CREDIT CARDS, MONEY ORDERS, ETC.

A Tennessee lawmaker has filed a bill that he says would make it easier to buy lottery tickets. Currently, the law states that lottery tickets must be purchased in-person and with cash. The bill is sponsored by Sen. Jack Johnson and Rep. Charles Sargent of Franklin and authorizes the use of money orders, debit cards, and prepaid gift cards to purchase lottery tickets. The legislation was introduced in both houses on Tuesday and has already passed on first consideration in the Senate.
