LIFESAVER AWARD PRESENTED TO FRANK VITALE FROM CROSSVILLE CITY COUNCIL
The Crossville City Council presented a Lifesaver Award last night to Frank Vitale. Back in July, 44-year-old Michael Paul Howard was involved in a motorcycle accident on North Main Street. Howard was ejected upon impact with a vehicle. He received severe injuries and was flown to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. Howard may not have survived if it weren’t for the quick thinking of Vitale, who rushed to the aid of Howard and used a belt as a tourniquet to help control the bleeding from Howard’s leg. Vitale also stayed with Howard and kept him calm and conscious until emergency personnel arrived at the scene.
