LIVINGSTON WATER SYSTEM SHOWS MAJOR OVERNIGHT IMPROVEMENT
The City of Livingston has reported significant overnight improvements to its water system and is now beginning the process of restoring water service to the North Overton Utility District.
Residents in that area are asked to turn on both hot and cold faucets where possible to help release trapped air from the lines, and to monitor a faucet throughout the day, as it may take several hours for water to fully reach all customers. The boil water notice remains in effect across the entire system, with a further update expected tomorrow morning. North Overton Utility District staff will be conducting house-to-house visits to deliver drinking water to shut-ins and the elderly while checking on their needs.
Potable water continues to be available at Hilham School, Allons School, and the East Clay Fire Department, where the household limit has been increased to 20 gallons using containers no larger than 5 gallons each. At 4 p.m., bottled water distribution will resume at the old Berkline building (home to B and R Metals) at 210 Industrial Park.
The city expressed gratitude for residents’ patience and thanked numerous agencies and businesses for their support during the emergency.
