LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES TAKE PART IN “SHOP WITH A COP”
Posted by Monroe County Sheriff Tommy Jones:
Last night, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office hosted Shop with a Cop for children in Monroe
County in partnership with the Sweetwater Walmart.
Thanks to this program, children were able to shop for toys who otherwise may not have had
anything this Christmas. Seeing the excitement on their faces reminded us of why this event is
so special.
We are proud to continue this tradition each year during the Christmas season and are grateful to Sweetwater Walmart
for their support and for helping make the experience memorable for both the children and our deputies.
Together, we’re making Christmas brighter-one child at a time.

On December 22, 2025, the White County Sheriff’s Office had the honor of giving back to our community by participating in the 6th Annual Shop With a Cop event. We were proud to serve alongside the Sparta Police Department, THP, Sparta YMCA, Marty McFly, and many other dedicated partners.
This special event was made possible through Marty McFly’s Annual Blue Light Ride, which helps spread holiday cheer throughout White County and the City of Sparta. Together, we provided Christmas for more than 60 children, creating countless smiles for them and their families.
Events like this truly take a village. We are proud and honored to have been part of such an incredible collective effort.

SHOP WITH A COP 2025
Last night, the Lenoir City Police Department had the privilege of sponsoring and shopping with 21 children during our 4th annual Shop with a Cop event. Families from our community were selected to spend time shopping with the officers who serve them, picking out essential items and desired toys for Christmas. This year, the department was able to raise over $3,500 to support local families during the holiday season.
“Every day, we care about our community. This is just another way we can show that,” said Chief Bryant. “LCPD is proud to have officers like Zack Parmer who step up and lead this annual event, along with the others who participate. Few things make a police chief prouder than standing back and watching their officers build genuine relationships with their community.”
LCPD would like to sincerely thank everyone who helped make this event possible. A big thank you to the officers who volunteered their time, the Lenoir City Schools and Loudon County Schools Family Resource Centers, the Highland Park Ruritan Club and its members, and Walmart Lenoir City for their continued support.
