LONGTIME PUTNAM COUNTY EDUCATOR KILLED FRIDAY NIGHT
A longtime Putnam County educator and coach was killed Friday night after being struck by a vehicle while standing next to his mailbox. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says 84-year-old Frank Medley was struck by a Chevy S10 pickup on Buffalo Valley road near the intersection of Deer Creek Road. The driver of the pickup, 53-year-old Ricky Lewis, was charged with a light violation for having only one working head light. Medley taught and coached at Upperman High School for 33-years. He also served as principal from 1986 to 1995.
