LOUDON COUNTY AUTHORITIES CONTINUE SEARCH FOR SUSPECT CHARGED WITH MULTIPLE COUNTS OF ATTEMPTED MURDER

A vehicle pursuit last night in northern Loudon County of a wanted subject led to an overnight manhunt. The suspect, 31-year-old Devin Damascus McGuire, inside his fleeing vehicle opened fire on several officers from the sheriff’s office and the Lenoir City Police Department.

“We have launched a large scale ground and air search for this individual,” said Chief Deputy Jimmy Davis. “The individual that we are searching for is to be considered armed and extremely dangerous. We are utilizing resources from Loudon County, Knox County and Blount County Sheriff’s Offices, the Lenoir City Police Department and air support from both the Knox County SO and the Tennessee Highway Patrol.”

McGuire, who is believed to reside in Knox County, fled the scene on foot in the State Highway 11 area. Search efforts are focused on those surrounding roads and communities in between Shaw Ferry Road, Martel Road, Virtue Road, Muddy Creek Road and towards the Loudon and Knox County Lines on Kingston Pike.

McGuire is an African American male standing 6’1 and weighs 243 pounds.

Investigators have charged McGuire with four counts of attempted first-degree murder and one count of aggravated kidnapping.
