Malcolm Gray Williams Jr., a 58-year-old teacher and interim head football coach at Greenback Public School, was arrested on May 7, 2025, and charged with sexual battery. The incident occurred on April 25, when Williams allegedly touched a custodian inappropriately in the school’s field house after asking her to clean it.

The custodian reported that Williams, who appeared to have been drinking, grabbed her breast and genitals without consent, despite her protests. She reported the incident to her supervisor, who notified law enforcement. Williams admitted to the act during an interview with the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office.

The school district suspended him pending investigation, but Williams announced his immediate retirement. The case is closed by disposition, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for June 11, 2025.
