LOUDON COUNTY WOMAN STILL MISSING

The Loudon County Sheriff’s Office is still searching for 31-year-old Elisha Carpenter.

Officials say the investigation has now been expanded to both land and water, based on information provided by family members and other witnesses.

Loudon County Detective Sergeant Charlie Cosner reported there’s credible reason to believe Carpenter may have entered a nearby lake, “We are searching that area by boat and have deployed our dive team to help in the underwater search as well.” The land search is encompassing buildings, warehouses and abandoned structures in the area.

Chief Deputy Jimmy Davis says the sheriff’s office has committed multiple resources to look into the woman’s disappearance, and teams are continuing to investigate leads. But he said there are multiple possible scenarios and they need more information to narrow them down.

“Someone out there may possess the information into this case that will help us find Elisha Carpenter,” he said, adding, “We need anyone who does have that information to come forward and contact our Detectives Division.”

Carpenter was last seen walking away from her apartment at River Manor Apartments around 2 a.m. Friday. She was wearing light-green pajama-style pants and a pink hoodie.

Anyone with information about Elisha Carpenter’s location is asked to call the Loudon County E911 Communications Center at (865) 458-9081 or 911.
