LOUDON DEPUTIES TAKE THOMAS FORTUNE INTO CUSTODY
UPDATE From the Loudon County Sherriff’s Office:
The Loudon County Sheriff’s Office successfully took Thomas Fortune into custody after a brief standoff in Philadelphia, Tennessee.
While on patrol in the Donaldson Road area, Deputy Nate Reagan spotted Fortune outside a home and recognized him as a wanted individual. Upon seeing Deputy Reagan, Fortune fled into the residence and barricaded himself inside.LCSO swiftly established a perimeter and deployed the SWAT team. After issuing commands, Fortune surrendered and was safely arrested without further incident.This is the same individual involved in the incident earlier this week that led to a temporary lockdown of Philadelphia Elementary School. As a precaution, the school was briefly locked down again during the standoff but has since returned to normal operations.

The Loudon County Sheriff’s Office has suspended the search for Thomas Fortune. After a thorough K-9 track, it is believed that Fortune was able to leave the area and may have been picked up by a vehicle.
LCSO does not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public at this time; however, there will still be a law enforcement presence in downtown Philadelphia as the investigation continues.We would like to extend our gratitude to the community for their patience and support throughout this search. Fortune is wanted for multiple charges, including Felony Evading, Violation of Probation (x2), Failure to Appear, and additional traffic-related offenses.
