Luanna Tollett, 71
Luanna Tollett, age 71, was born on July 27, 1953 to Herman and Betty (Kendrick) Scherrer in Indianapolis, IN and passed away on February 2, 2025 in Knoxville, TN.
Luanna was the beloved and cherished wife of Phillip Tollett for 52 years. She was the mother to 2 sons Jonathan Tollett and Jeremy Tollett, and 1 daughter Amy Smith. Mother of love to Rachell Tollett, Steve Smith and Beverly Tollett. She was also Grandma to 9 grandchildren, Kacey Tollett, Andrew Tollett (Katelyn), Adam Tollett (Bailey), Elijah Tollett (Maggie), Taylor Smith (Heaven), Bradley Smith (Kayli), Joshua Tollett (Summer), Matthew Tollett, Paige Tollett, Greg Dixon, and Kristin Stafford (Caleb). Grandma Lu to soon to be 15 GREAT grands. Sister to Allen Scherrer, Mark Scherrer, Sue Scherrer, Eric Scherrer, and Aunt Luann to many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Father Herman Scherrer, Mother Betty Scherrer, Sister Rosemary Scherrer, Brother Kris Scherrer.
She cherished her family and her family adored her. She was a woman after God own heart and lived as an example of a Christ-like life. She was a fierce prayer warrior. She instilled in her children that the power of prayer and a relationship with Christ is the most important choice you will ever make. She was a light to whomever she met and when she entered a room, the whole room respected her and fell in love with her.
She was a mighty warrior for God.
I found a note in her bedroom and I think it would be her final sermon to us:
Its one thing for the word of the Lord to be found in our Bibles and yet another for the word to be unleashed in our lives. Unless the word of God be loosed from its bindings it remains just another book on our shelf or bedside table…seek him.
Even though the selfish side of us still wants her with us, she is still touching the lives of others as she was a registered organ donor.
Services will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at First United Methodist Church on Main Street in Crossville. Visitation will be from 11:00am – 1:00pm, with the service to follow at 1:00pm, Randy Smith and Jon Tollett officiating. She will be laid to rest in Tolletts Chapel Cemetery immediately following the service.
