A Cumberland County deputy attempted to stop a motorist on Genesis Road late last night for not having working brake lights. The arrest report states the driver, 37-year-old Melanie Ann Mahaney of Crossville, continued inbound and did not pull over. A pursuit started and spike strips were set up in front of Colinx. Mahaney got around it and continued to Industrial Boulevard where she stopped in a parking lot. A three year old child was in the vehicle with her at the time of the incident and a Department of Children’s Services referral was made. Mahaney was charged with reckless endangerment, evading arrest, simple possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a suspended license.
