MAIN STREET SHOOTING VICTIM HAS PASSED AWAY-IDENTIFIED

Crossville News First has reported that the shooting victim has died and been identified.
For the first time in recorded history a man was shot down on Main Street, right in the center of town in front of the Cumberland County Courthouse in Crossville Friday night. The victim, identified as 62-year-old Albert Darrell Sturgill Jr., was on Main Street and near the War Memorial Park when three men confronted him which moved into the north bound lane of Main Street in front of the Courthouse. Cars were stalled on either side of the traffic light watching the drama unfold. The confrontation ended when one of the three men, Eric Garrison, physically engaged Sturgill, pulled away then ran to a car across the street and retrieved a pistol, ran back across the street and shot Sturgill point blank – who dropped to the pavement.
Sturgill was taken to U. T. Medical center in Knoxville and put on life-support. He passed away Sunday afternoon at 2:55pm. Garrison is in Cumberland County Jail on 1 million dollars bond and his charge will likely be upgraded to second degree murder.
A GOFUNDME Account has been set up for Mr. Sturgill.
