Interstate 40 Westbound is completely shut down this afternoon following a critical motor vehicle accident near the 294-mile marker on Monterey Mountain. Emergency responders are on the scene, and a medical helicopter has been dispatched to land in the area to transport injured individuals. Drivers are advised to avoid the stretch of the interstate and expect significant delays.

Meanwhile, local emergency crews are also managing a separate two-vehicle collision in Crossville. The local wreck occurred at the intersection of Main Street and Highway 70, located at the bottom of Watertank Hill. Police and medical personnel are actively responding to both incidents.
